Understanding the link between somatic movement and emotional release.

We often think of trauma or stress as something that lives in our brains. But the body keeps the score. Tension patterns in our shoulders, hips, and jaw are often emotional stories asking to be heard.

Somatic Release

Somatic movement is not about how the exercise looks, but how it feels. It's an internal sensing. By moving slowly and mindfully, we can access the nervous system directly.

At Terranam, our morning practice often includes shaking—a primal mechanism to discharge excess cortisol. Animals do this naturally after a threat passes. Humans have socialized it out of themselves.

When we allow the body to express itself through movement, we don't just get fitter; we get freer.
